Nikon Slr Digital Cameras

It has been a while since I used my first nikon slr digital camera.

I started of with Nikon D70. At first, I set to auto as the idea or ISO, shutter speed, aperture never really hit me yet. However, after several events coverage, and a little help from my NS buddy, Ronson Gan, I managed to get the idea.

ISO: LOW is such as 100 provides crisp images, good for outdoor photography.
High ISO such as 400 and above is for lowly lighted environments, such as in the house, room, cave. However, the higher the ISO, the higher the noise level, at least for the case of D70 and D80.

Shutter speed: Slow shutter speed is good for night photography. However, with this, you will get motion blur from the subject, if the subject moves.
High shutter speed is for fast action, such as sports events, sprints, bicycle marathons.

Aperture: The concept of depth of field. The bigger the aperture, such as 2.8, will focus on the subject, whilst blur everything around it.
The smaller the aperture, such as 5 to 22 is good to capture landscape, group photos where you want all the subject matters to be clear.

These are the basic things a SLR photographer should know before he embarks on other techniques of photography.
